グローバル化の影響により英語力は益々必要とされる時代に突入した。英語に苦手意識を持ちながらも、仕事上で「話すこと」又は「書くこと」が求められる職場もあるだろう。ここであなたに朗報、Google翻訳だ。スマートフォンでアプリをダウンロードすると分かるが、「話しかける」ことで翻訳されたり、カメラモードで撮影すると文字を認識し瞬時に翻訳される。この機能は世界中の英語が苦手だけどどうしても英語使用が求められる人の味方になっている。今年、旅行でベトナムに訪れた時、ベトナム語しか話せないローカルがGoogle翻訳を最大限に利用してスムーズに意思疎通を取っていた。実は私も仕事で「書くこと」が非常に必要なのだが、一度書いた自分の文章をGoogle翻訳にコピペして、確認している。このように今の時代は英語が苦手でもそこまで支障は出ないと思う。

This feature helps those who are not good at English all over the world. When I visited Vietnam this year for a trip, locals who could only speak Vietnamese were able to communicate smoothly using Google translation. Actually, I also need to “writing” at work. I copy and paste my English sentences into Google Translate for a double check. As you can see, I don't think there will be any problem even if you are not good at English.
