Superheroes - The Script
作曲の背景
ボーカルのダニエル・オドナヒューによると、Superheroesは「世界の讃えられることのないヒーロー」のために書いた曲だと言う。幾度となく辛い経験をしてきた、そんな人たちに勇気を与えたいそうだ。PV（Promotion Video)の舞台となったのはヨハネスブルグ（南アフリカ共和国の都市）だった。約200,000人もの人々が貧困地域に住んでいて、生活のために来る日も来る日も働き、中には虐められる人もいたり、性的奴隷として売られたりする人もいる。辛い経験や貧しい生活をしているのに、明るく前向きに頑張っている人に向けた応援歌だ。PVにも出てくるある親子にフォーカスを当てているので、そこにも注目だ！

余談「辛い経験が人を強くする」
「恵まれていないことが恵まれている」と言えるかもしれない。もしも裕福な家庭に育って頑張らなくてもいい環境だったら、
何もしないでただのんびり楽して生きると思う。
でも何でも簡単に手に入るような人生じゃーつまらない。

言葉では表しきれない価値があると思う
This song, as a whole, contains a self-empowerment theme toward those who have gone through a number of difficulties, keep themselves positive and optimistic in their daily life. Despite of being under such bad surroundings, they live strongly. It could be said that they are superheroes for everyone around the world.
